Client: Vindalho - Spice Route Cuisine

Project: PR, Community Communications, pre-opening tours, email announcement, email invitation, Opening Celebration and Quarterly Email Newsletter

Objective: In close collaboration with Chef/Owner David Machado, plan and execute a series of meetings, communications and events that build a lasting partnership with the surrounding community and welcome neighbors and neighboring businesses to the new restaurant.  Provide ongoing PR services and seasonally-focused email communications that highlight Vindalho's unique menu, environment and ambiance.

Results: Exceeding all expectations, Vindalho has been a hit from opening day. Press has lauded Vindalho and Chef Machado for his exciting Spice Route Cuisine and his cultivating another neighborhood restaurant. Features ran in all major outlets.

Two days of "hard hat" pre-opening tours brought neighbors, neighboring businesses, leaders in community, sustainabilty and farming together to learn about Vindalho's commitment to local products, staff who live nearby and green building and design features.

A post-opening celebration raised close to $5,000 for a neighborhood-based non-profit created to teach elementary school children how to grow and cook their own food.

A series of email newsletters feature menu and bar updates, news, special events and exciting goings on at Vindalho. Email successfully drives new and repeat diners to Vindalho.
